"Storytelling, for me, is a wonderful way to bring history to life, to strengthen faith and old-fashioned values, and to sprinkle a little humor in our lives."

After retiring from a 30-year career in Corporate America, Madelyn moved to Northeast Tennessee in the mid-1990's and started strolling the streets of Jonesborough as a tour guide. Little did she know or expect that it would launch her into a second career. She fell in love with storytelling… historical stories at first, then ghost stories for evening ghost walks, then sacred stories for church tour groups. Today as a full-fledged storyteller, Madelyn has included patriotic, folklore, "old car" and family stories as well. She often incorporates music into her stories, either lending her own musical talents, or sometimes accompanied by her musician husband.

"Storytelling, for me, is a wonderful way to bring history to life, to strengthen faith and old-fashioned values, and to sprinkle a little humor in our lives."

Madelyn is a performing member of the Jonesborough Storytellers Guild and a member of the National Storytelling Network. She has performed at many storytelling events including the Swapping Grounds at the International Storytelling Festival, the Pre-Festival Concert, and other storytelling venues in Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Western New York.
